Liferay West Coast Symposium 2009

My name is Nate Cavanaugh. I’m a designer with developer proclivities, a developer with a design background, sometimes both, sometimes not much of either.

I’m 30 years old, married to a wonderful woman and my best friend, and enjoying the joys of marriage.

I’m fairly reclusive, but I’m hoping that changes soon. If nothing else, I hope I update this old blog a bit more frequently.

I work for Liferay, an enterprise open source portal/social collaboration system. I’m currently the Director of UI Engineering, and get the privilege of working with smarter, cooler people than me.

I love hanging out with my wife, the beach, driving with my windows down, reading, drawing, debating, listening to music, and watching movies. I love developing, creating stuff, and good conversation.

I hate parties, small talk, and life’s little inefficiencies.

Colophonication

I had a real cool interesting blurb about the details of the typeface, like a real colophon, but I've redesigned this site so many times over the last few years, I've lost track. If you care about the details, you'll look at the CSS file anyways.
After pulling a Duke Nukem Forever on the site design for 3 years, I've decided I'm going to ship with what I got. There are areas that aren't as polished, and if you spot any, shoot me an email. How would you do that? You would write and email to joe@shift22.com, but since my name is Nate, you would replace joe with nate.
